
Brian Mendelssohn

Principal

A resident of Lawrenceville in Pittsburgh, Brian has overall responsibility for Botero Development since 2007.

Previously, he led a 30 member team as the director of construction for Hawthorne Development, a Chicago-based condominium conversion company known for its environmentally friendly, high quality, affordably priced redevelopment projects.
Prior to that, he was a project manager at Ariba (FreeMarkets) in Pittsburgh.
Brian earned a BS in Materials Science and Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, where he received the Senior Leadership Award.

The surrounding farmland supplies food for the urban areas, which in turn supports the economy for the farmland.
This shows us the definition and balance between urban and rural environments.

A 60 mile wide river in Southern Florida with cyprus swamps, grassy glades and mangrove islands. These landscapes are only found in the Everglades.

Although the Everglades has been under stress from human intervention for nearly a hundred years,
it has adapted and is currently being restored, bringing additional life back to it.

An industrial, rust belt city combining afforadability, history, culture, and opportunity.

Pittsburgh's development potential is exciting.
It already possesses many of the traits other cities have tried to re-create and it has been a lab for creativity in design, urban planning, and green building.
